One Punch Man Season 3 leaks are an easy clickbait for the anime fandom right now. With no information available about the studio or the staff who will be working on the third instalment of the series, even the slightest of hint feeds into the fans’ excitement, blowing up into something huge immediately.
A new rumor has similarly gained decent traction in the fandom, and this one suggests that Studio Bones and MAPPA will be collaborating to animate One Punch Man Season 3. This information is being circulated with an image featuring Garou and the logos of the two studios.
At first glance, the image definitely fits the mold of a teaser visual. However, upon scrutinizing the information, it was found out that the image was a fan art created by X (formerly Twitter) user @kagetaimatsu.
The visual first was first put out by the kagetaimatsu on Jan 2, 2024, which then got picked up by the Facebook page ‘We All Love Anime’ which boasts 77k followers on the platform, on the very next day. From there on, the rumor only gained more traction.
A considerable chunk of fans, especially on Facebook, did not mind checking the veracity of the information. On the other hand, the two studio rumor involving Bones and MAPPA for One Punch Man Season 3 made them very excited about the quality of the animation, especially for the highly anticipated Garou fight.
The excitement and hype was understandable because One Punch Man fans have been craving for a better quality of adaptation after Season 2 fell flat in many areas.
Also, two studio collaborations are not a new concept in this day and age. Wit Studio and Cloverworks recently collaborated to roll out the smash hit Spy x Family, and this could have added to the OPM rumor being easily consumed by social media users.
Users on X, however, were skeptical about the information, given the previous fiasco surrounding the rumors of MAPPA animating One Punch Man season 3. Some of them even corrected others saying that the visual in question was just a fanart.
However, the fact remains that this rumor is entirely baseless. Some even tried to give a detailed explanation as to why it would be impossible for either MAPPA or Bones to be involved in the production given their schedule.
Incidentally, both Bones and MAPPA were among the fans wishlist, when One Punch Man Season 3 was announced.
Since nothing has been confirmed till now, it would be better to wait for official announcements. There are hopefuls out there who still believe that this news could turn out to be true in the future!
One-Punch Man is a Japanese superhero manga series created by One. It tells the story of Saitama, a superhero who, because he can defeat any opponent with a single punch, grows bored from a lack of challenge. One wrote the original webcomic manga version in early 2009.
A digital manga remake began serializing on Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump website in June 2012. Written by One and illustrated by Yusuke Murata, its chapters are periodically compiled and published into individual tankōbon volumes.
In North America, Viz Media has licensed the remake manga for English language release and has serialized it in its Weekly Shonen Jump digital magazine.
