The Boy And The Heron Gets Nominated For Oscars 2024


The official Twitter account of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Jan 23, 2024, that Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy And The Heron has been nominated under Best Animated Feature Film category for Oscars 2024.

Suzume No Tojimari, Blue Giant, The First Slam Dunk, Lonely Castle in the Mirror, all of which had also gotten the eligibility nod for the Oscars along with The Boy And The Heron, failed to make it to the nominations.

The Boy And The Heron will be competing with Elemental, Nimona, Robot Dreams, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse for the Best Animated Feature Film category.

Oscar Nominations For Feature Film

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place at Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on March 10, 2024.

The Academy Awards, commonly known as the Oscars, are awards for artistic and technical merit for the film industry. They are presented annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in recognition of excellence in cinematic achievements as assessed by the Academy’s voting membership.

The Boy And The Heron had bagged the award for the Best Motion Picture – Animated at Golden Globes 2024.
