The Acro Trip anime adaptation, which was announced in 2022 and is set to premiere this year, has received a lengthy teaser trailer and a key visual. The teaser introduces heroine Chizuko Date, who soon becomes witness to a brief clash between the magical girl Berry Blossom and the villain Chroma.
The show’s main cast, as well as additional staff details, were also revealed. Miku Itou is the voice for Chizuko, while Berry Blossom/Kaju Noichigo and Chroma are voiced by Inori Minase and Nobunaga Shimazaki, respectively. Kengo Kawanishi is cast as the mascot character Mashiro.
The newly unveiled Acro Trip staff names include Miwa Kawasaki (Orange assistant art director) as art director and TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND as music composer.
Acro Trip is based on the Shueisha-published comedy manga by Yone Sawata, which started serialization in Ribon in 2017 and released its fifth and final tankoubon volume in 2023. In the setting, Berry Blossom engages in frequent battle with the evil Fossa Magna organization, but her success has resulted in decreased interest from the public. Chizuko, who is a fan of the magical girl, is the exception, but she unexpectedly finds herself receiving an invitation to join Fossa Magna after encountering their weak leader Chroma, who is also a part-time convenience store worker.
Acro Trip is directed by Ayumu Kotake (Pet assistant director) with Shinichi Inotsume (Spy Classroom) as series composer and Toshie Kawamura (Yes! Precure 5) as character designer. This is the first series produced by Voil, which was established in March 2022 by former Genos Studio producer Katsuki Ootaka (Pet animation producer).
