Reina Ueda, Chika Anzai, and Aoi Koga have been announced as supporting cast members for the upcoming Whisper Me A Love Song anime.
Ueda’s character is Momoka Satomiya, a well-mannered girl who enjoys cooking, while Anzai is voicing Lorelai drummer Hajime Amasawa. Koga’s role is that of Miki Mizuguchi, a long-time friend of one of the story’s main characters Himari Kino.
Additionally, it was announced that Whisper Me A Love Song will have a pre-screening of its first episode at United Cinema Aqua City Odaiba on March 30.
Whisper Me A Love Song will premiere in April; it was supposed to begin airing in January but was pushed back due to “various circumstances.” That delay also came with staff credits changes, with Akira Mano (Ghost Hunt, Gunslinger Girl: -Il Teatrino-) replacing Xinya Cai (The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt assistant director) as director while Yokohama Animation Lab went from being the animation production supervisor to sharing animation production credits with CLOUDHEARTS. An official statement said that Cai’s health led to the director change.
The anime is an adaptation of the manga by Eku Takeshima, which began serialization in Comic Yuri Hime in 2019 and has eight tankoubon volumes as of July 2023. Kodansha USA describes the plot as:
Bubbly, energetic first-year high school student Himari falls head over heels for her senpai Yori after hearing her band perform on the first day of school. Himari tells Yori she just loves her, and, to Himari’s surprise, Yori says she loves Himari back! But when Himari realizes that she and her senpai are feeling two different kinds of love, she begins to ask herself what “love” really means…
