To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Bleach TV anime series, a new key visual featuring Ichigo Kurosaki and members of the Soul Society was released on the anime’s official Twitter account and website.
The visual was released to promote the upcoming “BLEACH: The Locus of Brave” event that is set to take place at the Yokohama Landmark Tower in Yokohama, Japan from April 26, 2024 to May 26, 2024. Special exhibitions will be displayed and new merchandise will be sold. More information about the exhibition can be found on the event’s official website, which will be updated with new details later on.
In addition, Japanese singer-songwriter SennaRin will be releasing a special song titled “Reaper,” along with an accompanying music video, on March 23, 2024 at 11:30 AM JST during AnimeJapan 2024.

VIZ Media also commemorated the 20th anniversary by releasing a special Ichigo Kurosaki visual on its Twitter account.
The first Bleach anime series aired from October 5, 2004 to March 27, 2012. It then returned with Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War, which aired its first cour from October 11, 2022 to December 27, 2022. The second cour, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Separation, aired in Japan on July 8, 2023 until September 30, 2023. A third cour titled Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Conflict will premiere sometime in 2024. The anime is streamed overseas by platforms like Hulu, Disney+, Bilibili, iQIYI, and Prime Video.
The original manga ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from August 7, 2001 to August 22, 2016 and was collected into 74 total tankobon volumes. A special one-shot was released in 2021. The manga and anime series also inspired four anime films, a 2018 live-action film adaptation, a trading card game, and stage musical.
Viz releases the Bleach manga in English and describes the recent Thousand-Year Blood War arc as:
When new Soul Reapers and a new enemy appear in his hometown of Karakura, Ichigo jumps back into the battlefield with his Zanpakuto to help those in need. Meanwhile, the Soul Society is observing a sudden surge in the number of Hollows being destroyed in the World of the Living. They also receive separate reports of residents in the Rukon District having gone missing. Finally, the Seireitei, home of the Soul Reapers, comes under attack by a group calling themselves the Wandenreich.
Led by Yhwach, the father of all Quincies, the Wandenreich declare war against the Soul Reapers with the following message: “Five days from now, the Soul Society will be annihilated by the Wandenreich.”
