Kimi no Iro will follow high school student Totsuko, who can perceive people’s emotions as colors. To avoid darkening the emotions of her friends and family, she has to tread lightly, read the air, and tell white lies. One day, she meets a beautiful girl in a secondhand bookstore who radiates a very beautiful color, as well as a boy who loves music. These three sensitive youngsters end up forming a band together.

The movie reunites Yamada with scriptwriter Reiko Yoshida (The Heike Story) and music composer Kensuke Ushio (Chainsaw Man). The trio previously collaborated on A Silent VoiceLiz and the Blue Bird, and The Heike Story, while Yamada’s relationship with Yoshida goes back to the first season of K-On! in 2009.
