The upcoming My Deer Friend Nokotan anime adaptation is back with a new trailer, showing off more chaotic comedy and previewing the student council members who are out to put a stop to the main characters’ Deer Club.
Voicing the student council members are Yurika Kubo as Neko Nekoyamada, Rio Tsuchiya as Kinu Tanukikoji, and Chinatsu Akasaki as Chiharu Tsubameya.
A second key visual for My Deer Friend Nokotan was also released, and it was announced that the opening theme song is “Shikairo Days” (performed by the Deer Club, which is voiced by Megumi Han, Saki Fujita, Rui Tanabe, and Fuka Izumi, and previewed in the new trailer) while the ending theme is “Shika-senbei no Uta” by Han and Fujita.
My Deer Friend Nokotan is set to premiere on July 7. The anime is based on the Kodansha-published manga by Oshioshio, which has been serialized in Shonen Magazine Edge since 2020 and has five tankoubon volumes as of May 2024. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the premise as:
No one knows Torako used to be a delinquent. All of her classmates only know her as the perfect student. But everything changes when Nokotan, a transfer student with antlers, enters her life. Antlers aren’t the only thing strange about Nokotan. Her deer nose can sniff out Torako’s secret past! Whether it’s at school or the zoo, chaos follows this doe-eyed girl’s every step. Torako has so many questions! Is Nokotan a deer, a girl, or something in-between?
