The TRIGGER-produced Delicious in Dungeon anime adaptation will continue with a second season. An announcement visual featuring Laios’ party and a teaser trailer were released with the news.
The first season of Delicious in Dungeon premiered in January and has two consecutive cours. The anime is based on the KADOKAWA-published fantasy manga by Ryoko Kui, which recently won Best Comic at the 55th Seiun Award. Yen Press describes the manga as:
When young adventurer Laios and his company are attacked and soundly thrashed by a dragon deep in a dungeon, the party loses all its money and provisions…and a member! They’re eager to go back and save her, but there is just one problem: If they set out with no food or coin to speak of, they’re sure to starve on the way! But Laios comes up with a brilliant idea: “Let’s eat the monsters!” Slimes, basilisks, and even dragons…none are safe from the appetites of these dungeon-crawling gourmands!
The Delicious in Dungeon manga began serialization in Harta in 2015 and released its 14th and final tankoubon volume on December 15, 2023. An animated promotional video was produced for its eighth tankoubon volume. This PV was also produced by TRIGGER and shares the same director as the series, Yoshihiro Miyajima (SSSS.Dynazenon assistant director).
Delicious in Dungeon Season 1 is available on Netflix.
