A new key visual has been unveiled for the ongoing seventh season of My Hero Academia, showcasing the fiery final showdown between Shoto Todoroki and Dabi. Season seven first premiered in Japan on May 4, 2024 after four recap specials aired in late April.
The My Hero Academia TV anime series began airing in 2016, with the most recent season six broadcasting from October 2022 to March 2023. Crunchyroll, Ani-One Asia, bilibili, and iQIYI are among the streaming platforms releasing the show internationally.
A fourth My Hero Academia anime film, My Hero Academia The Movie: You’re Next, will begin screening in Japan on August 2, 2024.
Kenji Nagasaki (returning, director of the first three seasons) is the chief director of the seventh season, with Naomi Nakayama (Koikimo; Orange chief director; My Hero Academia Episode 78, 83, and 87 storyboard artist, My Hero Academia Episode 64 director) as director, Yoshihiko Umakoshi (returning) and Hitomi Odashima (returning) as character designers, Yuki Hayashi (returning) as music composer. Bones is the animation production company once again.
The anime series is based on Kohei Horikoshi’s superhero action manga, which has run in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since July 7, 2014. Forty tankobon volumes have been released as of April 2024. VIZ Media releases the manga series in English.

Society has crumbled, along with its faith in heroes, with the all-out battle causing great damage. With the heroes defeated, Shigaraki, All For One, and others plot their takeover. As the final battle draws near, Deku, along with his U.A. classmates and other heroes, including one from America, come together to face this onslaught. Will it be enough to restore peace?
