Last Defense Academy, A Strategy RPG Where You Defend A School for 100 Days

The recent Nintendo Direct 2024 saw the announcement of The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-, a new strategy RPG from the creators of Danganronpa that’s coming to Nintendo Switch and Steam in early 2025.

The premise of The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- is that monsters have suddenly attacked, causing a disruption to regular teenager Takumi Sumino’s ordinary life in the Tokyo Residential Complex. An encounter with the mysterious Sirei leads to him being drafted into the Special Defense Unit, a team of 15 students who have to defend the Last Defense Academy school for 100 days.

Aside from fighting isometric turn-based battles, players will have to worry about making ending-affecting choices and deepening bonds with their allies. There are also “wilderness and ruins” to explore, which can turn up items for crafting gifts.

Kazutaka Kodaka (Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc planning and scenario, Master Detective Archives: Rain Code scenario) and Kotaro Uchikoshi (AI: The Somnium Files direction and scenario) are in charge of The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-‘s direction and scenario. Other staff credits include:

• Character designer: Rui Komatsuzaki (Danganronpa series)
• Creature design: Shimadoriru (AI: The Somnium Files art designer, Fate/Grand Order character designer)
• Audio director: Masafumi Takada (
Master Detective Archives: Rain Code composer)

TooKyo Games Inc. is credited with the planning while Media Vision Inc. has the developer credit. Aniplex Inc. is publishing the game.
