During Crunchyroll’s panel for Black Butler: Public School Arc, it was announced that a TV anime adaptation of Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc will premiere on the platform in 2025.
A 1-minute teaser trailer for Emerald Witch Arc was also released at the panel.
Kenjiro Okada (March Comes in Like A Lion series director) is directing the anime, with Hiroyuki Yoshino (Black Butler: Book of Circus) as series screenwriter, Yumi Shimizu (Locodol) as character designer, and Ryo Kawasaki (To Your Eternity) as music composer. CloverWorks is in charge of the animation production.
Meanwhile, the main voice cast for Black Butler: Public School Arc includes:

- • Toshiki Watanabe as Edgar Redmond
- • Junya Enoki as Lawrence Bluewer

Public School Arc is the first new Black Butler anime since 2017’s Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic film. The first season premiered in 2008 and was followed by two more seasons and a two-episode OVA. The previous anime entries were produced by A-1 Pictures.
Black Butler is based on the dark fantasy manga by Yana Toboso, which began serialization in Square Enix’s Monthly G Fantasy in September 16, 2006 and has released 34 tankobon volumes as of April 2024. Yen Press releases the manga in English for North America.
Crunchyroll and bilibili are streaming the new season, and the former describes the main story as:
