Manga Plus, Shueisha’s popular manga reading app, held a voting at Anime Expo 2024 for fans to choose their favorite up-and-coming manga serialized on the app.
According to the final results, Kagurabachi manga came out on top in the voting, becoming the favorite newcomer manga at Anime Expo 2024.
The manga garnered 590 votes from fans, boasting a healthy lead over the likes of Nue’s Exorcist, Ruri Dragon, and even Sakamoto Days, among other popular serialized works on the platform.
Fans who took part in the voting were given a freebie by Manga Plus. Additionally, those who downloaded the app and made a post with given hashtags on social media platforms also stood a chance to win a free badge at Anime Expo 2024.
Takeru Hokazono’s Kagurabachi has been on a purple patch recently, with the manga receiving immense support both in print and digital formats.
The third volume of the manga, which hit the shelves on July 4, 2024, is in high demand in Japan, just like the previous two volumes. Naruto author Masashi Kishimoto recommended Kagurabachi manga in the third volume.
Viz will be releasing the volumes of the manga in English, with the first volume set to come out in Fall 2024.
Kagurabachi has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since September 2023. The first tankobon volume was released on Feb 2, 2024.
Viz Media and Shueisha’s Manga Plus platform are publishing the series in English.
It has also garnered significant international attention. The English version of Chapter 1 achieved the top spot in global views on MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA just one week after its debut.
