Dr Stone‘s fourth and final season, Dr. Stone: Science Future, will premiere in 2025. It was also announced that it will run for three split cours.
A teaser visual was released as well.
Dr. Stone is based on the Shueisha-published manga written by Riichiro Inagaki and drawn by Boichi, which ran from 2017 to 2022 in Weekly Shonen Jump and has 26 tankoubon volumes. Viz Media describes the plot as:
One fateful day, all of humanity was petrified by a blinding flash of light. After several millennia, high schooler Taiju awakens and finds himself lost in a world of statues. However, he’s not alone! His science-loving friend Senku’s been up and running for a few months and he’s got a grand plan in mind—to kickstart civilization with the power of science!
The anime’s first season premiered in 2019. The third season, Dr. Stone: New World, debuted its first cour in April 2023 and its second cour in October 2023. Crunchyroll, Bilibili, and iQIYI streamed New World overseas.
As of New World, the staff includes Shuhei Matsushita as director, Yuuichirou Kido as series composer and scriptwriter, Mayuko Iwasa as character designer, Hiroyuki Horiuchi as main animator, and Tatsuya Katou, Hiroaki Tsutsumi, and YUKI KANESAKA as music composers. Shinya Iino directed the first two seasons. TMS Entertainment is the animation production company.
