Tabekko Dobutsu Animal Biscuit Brand Receives Anime Film in May 2025


An anime film for the biscuit snack brand Tabekko Dobutsu has been scheduled to premiere in Japan on May 1, 2025. The film will be screened at Shinjuku Wald 9, along with other theaters nationwide.

TBS released a teaser visual and announcement video for the film, which will be titled Tabekko Dobutsu THE MOVIE, along with separate character visuals featuring the main animal characters.

Hitoshi Takekiyo (FLCL: Grunge, After School Midnighters) is serving as the director, with Tetsuhiro Ikeda (FLCL: Grunge, Inzai Aru Aru Monogatari) writing the script and screenplay. Kotaro Sudo is credited as the planner and producer for the film. Marza Animation Planet is in charge of the animation production.

Tabekko Dobutsu THE MOVIE is based on the animal-shaped butter biscuit snacks that were first released in Japan in 1978. The product has been shipped worldwide in over 20 countries and territories.
