The results for the first week of the My Hero Academia Worldwide Character Popularity Pol, titled WORLD BEST HERO, were announced on its official website.
The poll, which is the first-ever global popularity contest for the popular manga created by Kohei Horikoshi, saw Bakugo leading the charge globally, followed by Izuku Midoriya in second place and Shoto Todoroki in third.

In the North American Region, the top three remained the same, however, Kirishima took the 4th spot whereas Shigaraki came in at fifth, followed by Aizawa, Uraraka, Dabi, Hawks and All Might.
This poll is currently in its initial ‘MAIN STAGE,’ which will run until September 30, 2024. During this period, fans from around the world can vote for their favorite characters from the series.
Throughout the voting period, weekly top 20 rankings will be released, showcasing the popularity of characters segmented across eight regions: Asia, Oceania, North America, Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Japan. Rankings will be updated every Monday at 12:00 a.m. JST.
The results of this stage will be revealed on December 2, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. JST through a premium live broadcast on the official Jump YouTube channel.
The character who secures the top spot in this round will be honored with the prestigious title of ‘WORLD BEST HERO.’
The top three characters from the MAIN STAGE will then advance to the ‘PLUS ULTRA STAGE,’ the final round of voting, which will be open for just 24 hours.
Fans will have the opportunity to vote for their ultimate favorite character, and the results will be announced on December 3, 2024, at 9:30 p.m. JST.
The winner of the PLUS ULTRA STAGE will receive the title of ‘THE MHA.’
The poll was launched by Shueisha on August 5, 2024, as its highly anticipated secret project and was initiated to celebrate the conclusion of the My Hero Academia manga.
