Warner Bros. Japan and WIT Studio have announced that the Suicide Squad ISEKAI anime series is receiving a webtoon comic on LINE MANGA and Jump TOON on August 25, 2024. A new visual featuring the main characters was also released on the anime’s official website.
Wit Studio is producing the full-color webtoon, which will serve as the studio’s first simultaneous webtoon adaptation of an anime.
The official website also posted two behind-the-scenes videos of the sword battles between Harley Quinn and Katana from the anime’s first and seventh episodes.
The 10-episode anime series first premiered in Japan on July 5, 2024 and will conclude on September 7, 2024. The show debuted earlier in select territories with a 3-episode premiere on June 27, 2024 and ended on August 15, 2024 in select territories. It was streamed on Hulu and Max in the United States.
Eri Osada (Blade and Soul co-character designer and co-chief animation director, Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 6 director et al.) is directing the anime series, with Tappei Nagatsuki (Re:Zero, Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song) and Eiji Umehara (Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song) as screenwriters, Naoto Hosoda (Seiren character designer, The Future Diary and Juni Taisen: Zodiac War director) as character designer, and Akira Amano (Psycho-Pass) as original character designer and draft designer. WIT Studio handled the animation production.

The anime is based on DC Comics’ Suicide Squad franchise and comic series, which follows an anti-hero/supervillain team tasked with completing dangerous assignments.
The franchise has inspired several media adaptations, including two live-action films, animated films, and the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League looter shooter video game.

In the crime-ridden city of Gotham, Amanda Waller, the head of A.R.G.U.S., has assembled a group of notorious criminals for a mission: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, and King Shark.
