Gen Urobuchi’s Rusty Rabbit Delays Launch, Announces Switch Version

The upcoming Rusty Rabbit, a 2.5D side-scrolling action-adventure game created by Gen Urobuchi, has had its September 24 release pushed back to sometime in 2025. The delay is influenced by the decision to create a Nintendo Switch version of the game in addition to its previously announced PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam) versions.

A statement from the development team says that the decision to add a Switch release was “to ensure that more players can enjoy the game’s captivating story, characters, diverse action, and the thrill of mining.”

It also apologized for “the inconvenience caused” and added that “For those who pre-ordered the game through the PlayStation Store, refunds will be issued in accordance with the platform’s cancellation policy.”

Rusty Rabbits is set on a now-frozen Earth abandoned by humans thousands of years ago, with rabbits now being the dominant species. The main character is a middle-aged rabbit who delves into some ruins with his mech to find his daughter. The game began as Urobuchi’s hobby project and is a collaboration between Nitroplus and NetEase Games
