An October 7 JST (effectively October 8 at 12 AM JST) premiere date has been announced for the seventh season of Natsume’s Book of Friends. A main trailer and key visual for the anime were released as well.
Natsume’s Book of Friends is based on the Hakusensha-published manga by Yuki Midorikawa, which began in 2005 and has 30 tankoubon volumes as of September 2023. It is currently serialized in in LaLa. Viz Media describes the plot as:
When Reiko was Takashi’s age, she bound the names of demons and spirits in her Book of Friends, enslaving them to her capricious whim. Now Takashi is the owner of the book, and the creatures will do anything to get their names back.
The first season of the anime started airing in 2008, while Season 6 aired in 2017. The announcement of Season 7 was made in June 2023. In addition to the TV series, wwo anime movies were released in 2018 and 2021.
Prior to serialization, Natsume’s Book of Friends was released as a one-shot in LaLa DX.
