Mackenyu, who portrays Roronoa Zoro in One Piece Live-Action, recently shared updates about the upcoming second season during an Instagram live chat.
During the live, the actor hinted at a major improvement in the action sequence of One Piece Live-Action season 2, promising that they will be much better than those in Season 1.
Additionally, Mackenyu commented on the live-action version of Tony Tony Chopper, calling the character very cute.
“This time we got a very cute role. Chopper is very cute,” he stated.
Though details of Chopper’s appearance have yet to be fully revealed, fans are eager to see how the character will be brought to life.
Following the reveal from Mackenyu, fans have expressed eagerness to see the actor perform without the limitations that affected the first season
The first season of One Piece Live-Action was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many believe the restricted stunt work in season 1 due to the pandemic only held back the action scenes.
This led Mackenyu being unable to bring his usual stunt team from Japan, resulting in slower-paced fight sequences while working with the team in South Africa.
According to fans, Godoy was also relatively new to stunt work during the first season but has reportedly been putting in extra effort to refine his skills for season 2.
Moreover, fans were also recently treated to a glimpse of Mackenyu’s physical transformation for Season 2.
His personal trainer, Lloyd Naicker, posted an image last month showcasing the actor’s enhanced physique, with noticeably larger muscles compared to Season 1, suggesting a more intense and dynamic portrayal of Zoro in the new season.
One Piece Live-Action Season 2 will air in 2025, and will cover arcs from Loguetown to Drum Island.
