A new key visual has been unveiled for the second season of Sasaki and Peeps during the live-streamed MF Bunko J Natsu no Gakuensai 2024 event. The second season was announced shortly after the first season finale this past March. Additional information on the second season has not yet been revealed.
The visual features the characters Otonari-san and Abaddon, with the latter appearing in the first season’s 12th and final episode.
Mirai Minato (When Will Ayumu Make His Move?, The Dungeon of Black Company) directed season one of Sasaki and Peeps, with Deko Akao (Komi Can’t Communicate, When Will Ayumu Make His Move?) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, and Saori Nakashiki (The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!) as character designer. Silver Link was in charge of the animation production for the series.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:
- • Tomokazu Sugita as Sasaki
- • Aoi Yuki as Peeps
- • Akari Kito as Otonari-san
- • Rie Takahashi as Hoshizaki-san
- • Mutsumi Tamura as Abaddon
The anime is based on a web novel series that was published on Kakuyomu and Shosetsuka ni Naro on December 4, 2018. It was then republished as a light novel series by Media Factory on January 25, 2021, with eight volumes being released as of January 25, 2024. A ninth volume is set for release on July 25, 2024.
The series also inspired a 2021 manga adaptation by Pureji Osho. Yen Press releases the light novels and manga in English for North America.
Sasaki and Peeps is streaming outside of Japan on Crunchyroll and bilibili. Crunchyroll describes the main synopsis as:
