The third season of the TV anime Re: Zero Starting Life in Another World is set to premiere on Oct 2, 2024, airing on TOKYO MX, AT-X, and other networks in Japan.
The third season will contain a total of 16 episodes and be divided into two arcs.
The first arc titled “Assault Arc” (襲撃編), comprising the first eight episodes, will air in 2024, and the “Counterattack Arc” (反撃編), consisting of the second eight episodes, will air from Feb 5, 2025.
It was previously revealed that the first episode of the anime will be 90 minutes long.
A second promotional video was released to commemorate the announcement, which also revealed that Capella Emerada Lugunica will be voiced by Aoi Yuki.
Capella is one of the Sin Archbishops, representing the sin of Lust. Known for her cruel nature and vulgar speech, she is expected to bring a new level of intensity to the series.

Reflecting on her role, Yuki commented, “I was excited to see what kind of cute character I would be playing, but when I read the script, I realized it was an amazing character, and I loved it. Look forward to Capella’s magnificent rampage!”
Previously announced cast members who are joining Season 3 include:

- Chika Anzai as Sirius Romanée-Conti
In addition to the character reveal, the PV also introduced the ending theme “NOX LUX” by MYTH & ROID, which will accompany the series. Meanwhile, Konomi Suzuki is performing the opening theme song “Reweave”.
A visual featuring the four Sin Archbishops, including Capella, was also released ahead of the upcoming Re:Zero Season 3.
White Fox has returned to animate the third season with Masahiro Shinohara at the helm of the series. He replaced Masaharu Watanabe, who had directed the previous season of Re:Zero anime. Tappei Nagatsuki is supervising the anime.

The plot of Re:Zero Season 3 is described as:
“A year has passed since the liberation of the ‘Sanctuary,’ achieved through Subaru’s fierce battle against the attacking Elsa and his contract with Beatrice during the confrontation with the Great Rabbit. The Emilia camp, preparing for the royal selection, had been enjoying peaceful and fulfilling days with everyone united.
However, that tranquility comes to an end when a single letter arrives, delivered by a messenger. The letter is an invitation addressed to Emilia from Anastasia to the city of water gates, Priestella, one of the five major cities of Lugunica and a candidate for the royal selection.
Accepting the invitation, Subaru and his companions head to Priestella, where various reunions await them. Some are unexpected, some are unintentional, and one is yet to come. Beneath the surface, malevolent forces stir, and an unprecedented crisis looms.
Once again, the young man faces a harsh and challenging fate.“
Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World is a Japanese light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shin’ichiro Otsuka. The series was initially serialized on the website Shosetsuka ni Naro from 2012 onwards.
Season 1 of the anime adaptation, produced by White Fox, aired from April to September 2016, starting with an hour-long special. The first of two OVA based on the series was released in October 2018, and the second OVA was released in November 2019.
A second season aired in a split-cour format, with the first half airing from July to September 2020, and the second half airing from January to March 2021.
