Toei Animation has released the main trailer for Dragon Ball Daima, which includes a preview of the opening theme song “Jaka Jaan” by Zedd feat. C&K and reveals that the new Dragon Ball anime will take place in the Demon Realm.
Also revealed were a second key visual and the voice actors for three characters. The latter are Yumiko Kobayashi as Supreme Kai (Mini), Koki Uchiyama as Glorio, and Fairouz Ai as Panzy.
Panzy was originally previewed as a mysterious masked figure called Masked Majin. She and Glorio, a pilot, are new original characters.
Dragon Ball Daima is set to premiere on October 11 JST. The Dragon Ball franchise’s 40th anniversary project sees Goku and his friends being transformed into their kid forms. Dragon Ball‘s late creator Akira Toriyama is involved with the story and character designs for the show.
Dragon Ball started as a Shueisha-published manga in 1984. More recent Dragon Ball anime have been part of the Dragon Ball Super series, which takes place after Majin Buu’s defeat in Dragon Ball Z (1989-1996). Dragon Ball Daima is the first non-Super anime since Dragon Ball Super began in 2015.
