Three new cast members and the ending theme song have been revealed for the upcoming Dragon Ball Daima TV anime series. The anime will premiere in Japan on October 11, 2024 with an extended first episode.
The new cast members include Showtaro Morikubo as Gomah, Junya Enoki as Degesu, and Yoko Hikasa as Dr. Arinsu.
They join other newly added cast members such as Yumiko Kobayashi as Supreme Kai (Mini), Koki Uchiyama as Glorio, and Fairouz Ai as Panzy.
The ending theme is “NAKAMA” by ZEDD feat. AI. ZEDD is also the artist credited with the opening theme “Jaka Jaan,” along with C&K.
Yoshitaka Yashima (Dragon Ball Super storyboard artist, animation director et al.) is directing the anime, with Aya Komaki (ONE PIECE FILM RED assistant director) as series director, Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru (Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning) as animation character designer, and Yuko Kakihara (Pseudo-Harem) as series screenwriter. Toei Animation is the animation production company.
The late series creator Akira Toriyama is involved with the story and character designs for Dragon Ball Daima.
Dragon Ball started as a Shueisha-published manga in 1984. More recent Dragon Ball anime projects include the Dragon Ball Super series, which takes place after Majin Buu’s defeat in Dragon Ball Z (1989-1996). Dragon Ball Daima is the first non-Super anime since Dragon Ball Super began in 2015.
The Dragon Ball franchise’s 40th anniversary project sees Goku and his friends being suddenly transformed into their kid forms.
