Aldnoah Zero To Get Blu-Ray Box With New Episode 24.5 Content

A Blu-ray Disc Box for the 2014-2015 original mecha anime Aldnoah Zero has been announced.

In addition to the original 24 episodes, this release will come an extra Episode 24.5, which is titled “Ame no Danshou -The Penultimate Truth-.”

Aniplex Online lists a pre-order price of 38,500 yen (US$275.15, tax-included) for the Aldnoah Zero Blu-ray Disc Box and calls it a “Complete Limited Edition.” Purchasing the box from Aniplex Online will grant the buyer a reproduced voice recording script of Episode 24.5, a post card set, and an acrylic diorama as bonus freebies.

Aldnoah Zero‘s first cour aired during the Summer 2014 anime season, while the second cour arrived during the Winter 2015 anime season. The A-1 Pictures and Troyca co-production was directed by Ei Aoki (Overtake!, ID Invaded) with Gen Urobuchi (Fate/Zero author, Puella Magi Madoka Magica series composer) as story draft writer and Takako Shimura (Aoi Hana mangaka) as character draft designer. Crunchyroll describes the premise as:

Humanity has clearly split into two and currently there is no way these groups will once again unite. Humanity celebrates this transient time of peace as they slowly dismiss from their minds the scars their ancestors bore in the past. No one realized that with one little push their world can fall to its destruction.

The anime’s production credits also include Katsuhiko Takayama (The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash) as series composer, Masako Matsumoto (Overtake!) as character designer, I-IV and Kenji Teraoka (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch of Mercury co-mechanical designer) as mechanical designers, Takahashi Hashimoto (Blue Gender design works, Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture co-main animator) as mechanical and effects animator, and Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan) as music composer.
