MBS unveiled three teasers for the upcoming Dandadan anime on Sep 17, 2024. The teasers highlight three core themes of the show: battle, romance, and the occult.
The Battle teaser focuses on Okarun’s fight against the Flatwoods Monster, whereas the Love teaser previews the developing relationship between Momo and Okarun, set against the backdrop of the ending theme TAIDADA by ZUTOMAYO.
And finally, the Occult teaser features bizarre supporting characters, including aliens and yokai.

The voice cast for the supernatural characters featured in the teasers have also been revealed:
- Ryuzaburo Otomo as the Flatwoods Monster, a sumo-like alien
- Kikuko Inoue as Acrobatic Silky, a yokai with long silky hair who is interested in Aira
- Tomokazu Seki as the Dover Demon, a mantis-shrimp-like alien with a powerful punch
- Tomokazu Sugita as Taro, a living male anatomy model
- Fumi Hirano as Hana, a living female anatomy model
A brand new key visual for Dandadan anime was also unveiled.

Fuga Yamashiro will serve as the director of the anime adaptation, with Hiroshi Seko in charge of scripts. Kensuke Ushio will compose the music, and Naoyuki Onda will handle character designs, with Yoshimichi Kameda designing aliens and supernatural entities.
Dandadan anime produced by Science Saru is set to premiere on Oct 3, 2024. It will be streamed on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
Creepy Nuts performed the opening theme song Otonoke.
Dandadan is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ service since April 2021, with its chapters collected into 15 tankobon volumes as of July 2024.
The series is simultaneously published in English and Spanish on Shueisha’s Manga Plus platform and in English on Viz Media’s Shonen Jump website.
