A Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid anime movie, subtitled Sabishigariya no Ryuu, has been announced with a 2025 release date.
A teaser visual and announcement video for the Kanna-focused film was released. The latter, which includes a line of Kanna bidding farewell to Kobayashi, reveals that Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S‘s Tatsuya Ishihara (Amagi Brilliant Park) is returning as director.
Kyoto Animation previously produced the 2017 TV series Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, its 2021 sequel Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S, and the short form ONA MiniDora (Mini Dragon). The anime are inspired by the Futabasha-published manga series by Coolkyousinnjya.
Crunchyroll describes the first season as:
Miss Kobayashi is your average office worker who lives a boring life, alone in her small apartment–until she saves the life of a female dragon in distress. The dragon, named Tohru, has the ability to magically transform into an adorable human girl (albeit with horns and a long tail!), who will do anything to pay off her debt of gratitude, whether Miss Kobayashi likes it or not. With a very persistent and amorous dragon as a roommate, nothing comes easy, and Miss Kobayashi’s normal life is about to go off the deep end!
