A new autumn-themed seasonal visual has been released for the upcoming Tougen Anki: Legend of the Cursed Blood TV anime series, highlighting Shiki’s classmate, Jin Kougasaki. The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2025 and is licensed by Remow, who lists the series under the title Tougen Anki: Dark Demon of Paradise.
The anime’s main voice cast stars Kazuki Ura as Shiki Ichinose, Hiroshi Kamiya as Naito Mudano, and Kotaro Nishiyama as Jin Kogasaki.
The original dark fantasy adventure manga series by Yura Urushibara began serialization in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion on June 11, 2020 and has released 21 tankobon volumes as of September 2024.
The manga previously inspired a 2024 stage play adaptation, which is described as the first phase of the Tougen Anki project (the anime is the second phase).
Yen Press is releasing Tougen Anki in English, and describes the main synopsis as:
Shiki Ichinose’s blood is Oni, and his father’s is Momotarou. Normally, those with Momotarou blood hunt the Oni—but Shiki’s father refused to kill him as an infant. Instead, he adopted Shiki and raised him despite the rebellious attitude and dangerous temper that come with Oni blood. When a member of the Momotarou Agency kills Shiki’s father, Shiki vows to avenge him. But as he hones his abilities and learns to control his Oni blood, will he be strong enough to survive the dangers waiting for him…?
