Dandadan Anime Reveals New Trailer Previewing Opening Theme Song & Release Date

Mainichi Broadcasting System Inc. unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming Dandadan anime on Aug 19, 2024. The PV previews the anime’s opening theme, “Otonoke,” performed by Creepy Nuts.

Dandadan anime is scheduled to start airing in Japan on Oct 3, 2024.

It was also revealed that Japanese rock group ZUTOMAYO will perform the ending theme song, titled TAIDADA.

ZUTOMAYO’s vocalist, ACAね, expressed her excitement about the project, sharing that she has been a fan of Dandadan since its serialization on Jump Plus. She said the series’ characters and themes inspired her to create the song.

I’ve been reading DAN DA DAN on Jump Plus since its serialization began, and even now both the initial and latest volumes continue to draw me in. As someone who has always admired the ‘gyaru mindset’, I find myself intrigued by Momo, and Okarun’s line about ‘amateur morning greetings’ struck me so much that I immediately had to make a note of it in my iCloud. Being enemies is helping each other. I want to work more closely together, fight alongside each other, not overlook the tedious things, and feel the kind of fatigue that lets you sleep—like being weakened by delicious curry, like happiness in a Four-and-a-Half Tatami Room— that’s what inspired me to create this song. I hope you can enjoy it!

Dandadan anime, animated by Science Saru, will be streaming on both Netflix & Crunchyroll.

Main cast members include:

  • Shion Wakayama as Momo Ayase
  • Natsuki Hanae as Okarun
  • Mayumi Tanaka as Turbo-Granny
  • Kazuya Nakai as Alien Serpo
  • Nana Mizuki as Seiko

  • Kaito Ishikawa as Jiji

Fuga Yamashiro will serve as the director of the anime adaptation, with Hiroshi Seko in charge of scripts. Kensuke Ushio will compose the music, Naoyuki Onda will handle character designs, and Yoshimichi Kameda will design aliens and supernatural entities.
