Screenwriter Nobuyuki Isshiki reported on Tuesday that director Kazuyoshi Yokota passed away on September 7. Isshiki directed two anime titles created by Leiji Matsumoto — Cosmowarrior Zero and Maetel Legend.
He also helmed Dagon in the Lands of Weeds, Miimu Iro Iro Yume no Tabi, and Uchūsen Sagittarius. (Isshiki made his major debut as a screenwriter on Miimu Iro Iro Yume no Tabi, and his first main writer job was on Uchūsen Sagittarius.) Yokota worked on such classic titles as Anne of Green Gables, Grimm Masterpiece Theater, Haikara-san ga Tooru, and Rascal the Raccoon.
