Haikyu Anime Announces Two New Projects To Commemorate Movie’s Success & 10th Year Anniversary


Two new projects have been announced to celebrate the success of the Haikyu!! movie and the 10th anniversary of the anime series.

The first project is an exhibition for Haikyu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle At The Garbage Dump, featuring original artwork, materials, and video displays of iconic scenes from the movie.

There will also be photo spots and exclusive merchandise available for purchase.

This exhibition will take place at Tokyo’s Matsuya Ginza from Dec 27, 2024, to Jan 22, 2025, before touring nationwide, including stops in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, and Osaka.

Further details, including ticket sales, will be announced later.

Haikyu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump is the first part of the two-part Haikyu!! FINAL film.

It was released in theaters in February 2024, grossed over 20 billion yen worldwide, including Japan. It continued the story of the anime from the fourth season.

The second project announced is a special event titled “Haikyu!! 10th Event -NEXT STEP-,” which will mark the grand finale of the anime’s 10th-anniversary project.

Scheduled for March 2, 2025, the event will be held at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena, the largest venue in the anime’s event history, and will be divided into daytime and nighttime sessions.

Ayumu Murase, who voices Shoyo Hinata, and Kaito Ishikawa, who voices Tobio Kageyama, are confirmed to appear, with additional participants and event details to be announced soon.

Haikyu!! is created by Haruichi Furudate and was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2012 to July 2020. The series has over 55 million copies in circulation. It has 45 volumes containing 405 chapters.

The first season of the TV anime aired from April 2014 to September 2014. The second season aired from October 2015 to March 2016. The third season aired from October 2016 to December 2016.

The season 4 of the series aired in two cours, the first cour aired in January 2020 whereas the second cour aired from October to December 2020.
