Japanese Rock Band Novelbright Wants To Do Theme Song For Kagurabachi’s Anime Adaptation

Keigo, the bassist for the Japanese rock band Novelbright, has praised Takeru Hokazono’s Kagurabachi manga and expressed an interest in creating the theme song for its anime adaptation.

Taking to his official X account on Sep 9, 2024, Keigo shared his thoughts regarding the future of Shonen Jump following the conclusion of My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen.

While fans have expressed concern that the magazine may face a dark period without these major series, Keigo reassured them, stating that Kagurabachi will fill the void.

He went on to predict that the manga would explode in popularity if it were adapted into an anime and added that he wanted to do a theme song for it.

People are saying that Shonen Jump is going to enter a dark period after My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen end, but with Kagurabachi around, it’s going to be fine!!
It’s seriously amazing!!
If it gets an anime adaptation, it will explode in popularity!!
I want to do the theme song for it!!

Kagurabachi has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since September 2023. The first tankobon volume was released on Feb 2, 2024.

The series’ third volume was published in July 2024, with Naruto author Masashi Kishimoto recommending Kagurabachi manga in the volume.

As a part of manga’s first anniversary, the series launched a fan contest that allows readers to create and submit designs of their own ‘Mob Sorcerer’ characters.

Viz Media and Shueisha’s Manga Plus platform are publishing the series in English.

It has also garnered significant international attention. The English version of Chapter 1 achieved the top spot in global views on MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA just one week after its debut.

It was chosen as the best up-and-coming manga on Shueisha’s Manga Plus app by fans during Anime Expo 2024.
