The editor’s comments from Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 266 revealed that the ongoing Shinjuku Showdown Arc in the manga will be reaching its climax with chapter 267.
JJK 267 will officially release in Japan on Aug 26, 2024 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
Alongside this climactic chapter the manga is also getting a new cover illustration in the magazine by creator Gege Akutami, as well as a lead color page.
Furthermore, the full results of the 4th Jujutsu Kaisen Popularity Poll will also be revealed in the same issue.
However, the most exciting information for readers was that there will be a special announcement, which the editorial team mentioned as “super crazy“, related to Jujutsu Kaisen.
Fans have speculated about the future of the series following a snippet from a Q&A with Gege Akutami at the Jujutsu Kaisen exhibition.
Akutami confirmed that the Shinjuku Showdown Arc is indeed the final arc/part of the manga.
However, it remains to be seen whether the story will include additional mini-arcs or if it will conclude with the ongoing battle with Sukuna.
Jujutsu Kaisen manga began serializing in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018.
As of July 2024, the chapters of the manga have been collected into 27 tankobon volumes, with over 90 million copies in circulation.
