Naoya Matsumoto’s Kaiju No. 8 manga might be ending soon, according to the author.

With the release of its 13th volume on July 4, 2024, Matsumoto revealed that the story is reaching its climax, hinting that the series might end soon.

The story is currently reaching its climax, but I will continue to give my all to draw ‘Kaiju No. 8,’ so please continue to support me.

This announcement comes as the manga surpasses 15 million copies in circulation.

Matsumoto expressed his gratitude to the readers on hitting this milestone, stating, “With the release of Volume 13 on July 4th, ‘Kaiju No. 8’ has surpassed 15 million copies in domestic circulation! Thanks to everyone who has been reading it all this time and to those who started reading after watching the anime, we have been able to achieve such a large number! Thank you so much.

Kaiju No. 8 is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto. It has been serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app and website since July 2020, with its chapters collected in 13 tankobon volumes as of July 2024.

Viz Media has licensed the series for English release in North America.

An anime television series adaptation produced by Production I.G aired from April to June 2024. A sequel has been announced.
