Emi Shinohara, known for voicing Sailor Jupiter in Sailor Moon, has passed away at the age of 61.
Hey agency, 81 Produce, announced the news on their official website on Sep 10, 2024, stating that Shinohara died on Sep 8 while undergoing medical treatment.
“Emi Shinohara passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024, while receiving medical care. We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the support she received throughout her life,” the agency stated.
Shinohara is a well-known figure in the anime industry. In addition to voicing Makoto Kino, also known as Sailor Jupiter, her other notable roles include Kaho Mizuki in Cardcaptor Sakura, Kushina Uzumaki in Naruto Shippuden, Ophelia in Claymore, Presea in Magic Knight Rayearth, among others.
