Sakamoto Days Director Shares His Vision For The Anime Adaptation

TMS Entertainment has shared an exclusive message from director Masaki Watanabe regarding the upcoming Sakamoto Days anime adaptation.

In the message, Watanabe expressed his enthusiasm and vision for the project, providing fans with a glimpse on what they can expect in the upcoming anime.

He revealed that he was immediately captivated by the manga’s dynamic action sequences, and emphasized the studio’s intention to translate this energy into the anime through the strategic use of motion, color, and sound.

When I was first read the manga SAKAMOTO DAYS, I recall being excited by the dynamic action scenes.

For the anime, we would like to channel that excitement through action and speed by utilizing ‘motion’, ‘color’ and ‘sound’ unique to animation.

The director also highlighted the importance of preserving the manga’s humor and the protagonist’s distinctive character.

This balance of action, humor, and character depth is expected to be a defining feature of the upcoming series.

We hope to preserve the humor sprinkled throughout the story, while fully depicting Sakamoto’s character as the family-loving, no-kill hitman that he is.

As the production crew works diligently to bring this vision to life, Watanabe urged fans to remain patient.
