Anime enthusiasts in India are in for a treat as the highly anticipated ‘Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc‘ World Tour is set to arrive in Mumbai, India on April 20, 2024. This was officially announced on the Demon Slayer website on March 9, 2024.
The event features stage greeting and also a special screening of the film.
Adding to the anticipation, Tanjiro VA Natsuki Hanae will be attending the world tour screening in Mumbai along with Aniplex producer Yuma Takahashi.
The film has earned over ₹5.19 Crore at the Indian Box Office in its first week. The movie earned ₹4.6 crore in its opening weekend itself, and in doing so marked the biggest opening day or weekend for any International or Hollywood film in 2024.
It’s was also the second-biggest opening of all time for any anime film in India.
The movie also garnered an impressive $11,575,000 during its opening weekend in United States, thereby, securing the second spot at their box office, whereas it raked in 647 million yen (approximately 4.35 million USD) in its first three-day weekend from Feb 2-4, 2024, in Japan.
The movie is a compilation of the first episode from the upcoming Hashira Training Arc and the final episode of the Swordsmith Village Arc.
Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc anime series will release in Spring 2024, with a one-hour special episode. The previous instalment of the anime titled, Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc, released in Japan in April 2023.
The first season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba TV anime consisted of twenty-six episodes produced by Ufotable aired in Japan from April to September 2019.
A sequel film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train, was released in October 2020 and became the highest-grossing anime film and Japanese film of all time.
A second season of the anime series, readapting the “Mugen Train” arc seen in the film in seven episodes and covering the “Entertainment District” arc from the manga in eleven episodes, aired from October 2021 to February 2022.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge. It was serialized in Shueisha’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020, with its chapters collected in 23 tankobon volumes.
It has been published in English by Viz Media and simultaneously published by Shueisha on their Manga Plus platform.
