Netflix has announced that the highly anticipated second season of Arcane will premiere on its streaming service in November 2024.
A new key visual featuring the main cast and an extended sneak peek clip of season two were also released.
The first season contained nine episodes and were released in three parts respectively in 2021 on November 6, November 13, and November 20. GKIDS acquired the home video and digital rights of the first season. The animated series is part of the overall League of Legends universe.
The three main voice cast members from the first season reprising their roles for the second season includes Ella Purnell as Jinx, Hailee Steinfeld as Vi, and Katie Leung as Caitlyn Kiramman.
Fortiche Productions is the animation production company again, with Riot Games credited with the creative supervision. The second season was originally scheduled to release in 2023, but was delayed.
Christian Linke and Alex Yee serve as creators for the animated series. Pascal Charrue and Arnaud Delord co-directed several episodes of the series.
Arcane has won several awards and accolades, including Best Adaptation at The Game Awards and Outstanding Animated Program at the Primetime Emmy Awards. It was also honored at the Annie Awards.
Netflix describes the main premise of Arcane as:
Set in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun, the story follows the origins of two iconic League champions-and the power that will tear them apart.
