Bananya Around the World Premieres October 2024, Releases Teaser Visual, Trailer & Main Staff


A third season of the short TV anime series Bananya titled Bananya Around the World has been announced to premiere in Japan in October 2024.

The first teaser visual and 26-second teaser trailer for the third season were also revealed, which confirmed the return of main cast members Yuki Kaji as Bananya and Ayumu Murase as Baby Bananya. Both voice actors reprise their roles from previous seasons and will voice a variety of side characters once again. 

TMS Entertainment also released an English-subtitled trailer.  

Kyo Yatate is returning as director for Bananya Around the World, after helming the anime’s first two seasons. He is also serving as animation director and character designer for the third season. Masahiro Takata (High-Rise Invasion director, Bananya and the Curious Bunch screenwriter) is also returning as screenwriter and is co-writing the scripts with Sei Yoshitsuki (Nyaaaanvy). TMS Entertainment’s Studio 6 and Lesprit are in charge of the animation production for season three. 

Bananya is a series of animated shorts produced by TMS Entertainment and Gathering, who worked on the first two seasons. Season one aired from July 4, 2016 to September 26, 2016 for 13 episodes. A follow-up titled Bananya and the Curious Bunch aired from October 1, 2019 to December 24, 2019. Crunchyroll is streaming both seasons worldwide.

TMS Entertainment describes the main synopsis of Bananya Around the World as: 

A mysterious kitten who hides in a banana, Bananya lives on a certain planet in the universe. One day, a ball of light approaches Bananya… With a flash of light, Baby Sweet appears! They quickly become good friends and set out on a great adventure that takes them all over the world.
