The upcoming Blue Exorcist: Beyond the Snow Saga TV anime series will premiere on October 5, 2024, as revealed in a new 32-second promotional trailer that also highlights the main ending theme “Tsurara” by Yobahi.
Beyond the Snow Saga is the first of two consecutive cours of the anime’s fourth season, which will broadcast for a half-year run. It will be followed up by Blue Exorcist: The Blue Night Saga that will premiere in January 2025. Crunchyroll will stream both seasons worldwide, as the series airs in Japan.
A third season titled Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga, aired in January 2024 and concluded in March 2024. It was directed by Daisuke Yoshida (Idol Incidents) at VOLN, who are both returning to work on the fourth season.
Other returning staff members include scriptwriter and screenwriter Toshiya Ono (86, Mushoku Tensei), character designer and chief animation director Yurie Ohigashi (Appare-Ranman!), and composers Kohta YAMAMOTO (Chained Soldier, Dark Gathering) and Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan).
The first two seasons aired in 2011 and 2017, while an anime film was released in 2012. The previous anime were produced by A-1 Pictures.
The original manga series by Kazue Kato was first launched in Jump Square on April 4, 2009 and has released 31 tankobon volumes as of June 2024.
Viz Media releases the manga in English for North America, describing the main synopsis as:
Raised by Father Fujimoto, a famous exorcist, Rin Okumura never knew his real father. One day a fateful argument with Father Fujimoto forces Rin to face a terrible truth—the blood of the demon lord Satan runs in Rin’s veins! Rin swears to defeat Satan, but doing that means entering the mysterious True Cross Academy and becoming an exorcist himself. Can Rin fight demons and keep his infernal bloodline a secret? It won’t be easy, especially when drawing his father’s sword releases the demonic power within him!
