BEENOS recently revealed its sales ranking of H1 2024 anime merchandise based on the data from its cross-border ecommerce service Buyee. The ranking takes into account Buyee purchases that were made from January 1 to June 30, 2024 and are related to anime that premiered in Japan during this period.
According to the ranking, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba-related goods were the most popular. Ensemble Stars!! and My Hero Academia followed behind it at second and third place, respectively.
The other anime titles in the top 10 ranking, in order, were Saint Seiya, Wind Breaker, Kingdom, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Blue Archive the Animation, Delicious in Dungeon, and Black Butler.
The merchandise sales from these 10 titles combined amounted to 5% of all anime merchandise transactions done via Buyee during the research period.
BEENOS also released H1 2024 merchandise popularity rankings for mobile games, J-pop artists, and tokusatsu works. The mobile games ranking was headlined by Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage!, with Ensemble Stars!! Music & Basic and Disney Twister Wonderland settling at second and third, respectively. Idolish 7 and Granblue Fantasy were next, followed by Fate/Grand Order at sixth place. The remaining four spots were held by Umamusume: Pretty Derby, Honkai: Star Rail, The Battle Cats, and Idle Mushroom Garden.
For the J-pop artist ranking, which counts sales of CDs and DVDs as well, Ado sat at the top with Hatsune Miku in second place. YOASOBI, which has started to become prolific in the anime theme song realm, was sixth in the ranking. Popular hololive VTuber Hoshimachi Suisei and ZUTOMAYO ranked seventh and eighth, respectively.
Merchandise of the top 10 mobile games contributed 44% of total sales in the category. For the J-pop artist category, the top 10 provided 34% of of total sales.
Finally, for tokusatsu, the Kamen Rider, Godzilla, UltraHero, Super Sentai, and Mothra/Gamera franchises (in that order) occupied the top five spots.
