Indonesia has joined the exclusive club of countries that has the Girls Band Cry anime available for streaming. In Indonesia’s case, the show is available via the CATCHPLAY+ streaming service, which streams shows with Indonesian and English subtitles in the country.
CATCHPLAY+ Indonesia currently has eight of the show’s episodes, two episodes behind the Japanese broadcast. New Girls Band Cry episodes will be released on Mondays.
The CATCHPLAY+ Indonesia Instagram account announced the show’s arrival back in May, on the 23rd.
Aside from Indonesia and Japan, Girls Band Cry is available in France and South Korea. CATCHPLAY+ Taiwan and Singapore aren’t streaming the show.
Girls Band Cry had its Japanese premiere on April 5 (effectively April 6 at 12:30 AM JST). Toei Animation describes the music and youth drama as:
The main character drops out of high school in her second year, and aims at entering a university while working alone in Tokyo. A girl is betrayed by her friends and doesn’t know what to do. Another girl is abandoned by her parents, and tries to survive in the city by doing part-time jobs. This world lets us down all the time. Nothing goes as planned. But we want something that we can continue to like. We believe there’s a place where we belong. That’s why we sing.
Girls Band Cry was first announced in April 2023. Beyond the series, there are also animated music videos, singles, live performances, and merchandise.
