Crunchyroll has announced that it will premiere the two-part documentary series The Leveling of Solo Leveling on its streaming service today, starting at 3:30 PM PST.
This two-part series delves deep into the captivating journey of the popular anime series Solo Leveling, exploring its beginning as a web novel to its adaptation as one of the year’s top performing shows.
The docuseries is made In collaboration with AllSo, a Paris-based production company known for its innovative digital experiences and documentaries, and presents an in-depth exploration of Solo Leveling‘s popularity. It also showcases interviews with over 20 individuals, ranging from fans to the creators and producers behind Solo Leveling.
Viewers will be taken on a journey to Korea, where the documentary visits D&C Media and Redice Studio to explore how the series was transformed from text to art. The narrative then shifts to Japan, featuring insights from the teams at Crunchyroll, Aniplex, and A-1 Pictures, as well as the anime’s director, Shunsuke Nakashige (Mother of the Goddess’ Dormitory), providing a behind-the-scenes look at the adaptation process.
The Leveling of Solo Leveling is the second docuseries that Crunchyroll has released in recent weeks. They streamed BONES 25: DREAMING FORWARD, in collaboration with DeltaRocket, in early February 2024.
