Crunchyroll and Sony Music Entertainment are launching a new weekly roundtable podcast called Crunchyroll Presents: The Anime Effect. The podcast will spotlight anime’s influence on the broader cultural zeitgeist beyond specific shows and popular characters.
The Anime Effect will be available worldwide in English on all major podcast platforms beginning February 16, 2024. New episodes will be released every Friday from the premiere date onwards. A trailer for the podcast series was also released, along with a list of all streaming platforms, which includes Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and many more.
The video version of the podcast will be available to watch on Crunchyroll, YouTube, and the upcoming Crunchyroll Channel coming in 2024. Crunchyroll Premium subscribers will also be able to watch the ad-free video show weekly on the Crunchyroll app.
The weekly podcast is hosted by Crunchyroll’s own in-house team, consisting of Crunchyroll News publisher Nicholas Friedman, Crunchyroll brand manager LeAlec Murray, and Crunchyroll partnerships manager Leah President. The three hosts and special guest will engage in a roundtable discussing news, hot topics, and recommendations, as well as answer some fan questions.
