A third new PV trailer has been revealed for the upcoming DAN DA DAN TV anime series, which previews the show’s main opening theme “Otonoke” by Japanese hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts. The anime will premiere in Japan on October 3, 2024.
The new trailer features lead characters Momo and Okarun encountering several ominous aliens and ghosts, with Turbo Granny and the Serpoians making an appearance as well.
An English-subtitled version of the trailer was also posted on the anime’s official English Twitter account.

The anime’s main ending theme song was also revealed to be “TAIDADA” by singer-songwriter ZUTOMAYO.
Fuga Yamashiro (Keep Your Hands off Eizouken! co-assistant director) is directing the anime series, with Hiroshi Seko (Chainsaw Man) as series screenwriter, Naoyuki Onda (MF Ghost, Inuyashiki) as character designer, Yoshimichi Kameda (Mob Psycho character designer) as alien and yokai designer, and Kensuke Ushio (Tengoku-Daimakyo, The Heike Story) as music composer. Science SARU is in charge of the animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:

MBS entered into a partnership with ADN, GKIDS, and Muse Asia for a global theatrical premiere of the anime outside of Japan. The theatrical premiere will be titled DAN DA DAN: First Encounter and will screen in Southeast Asia beginning on August 31, 2024, followed by Europe on September 7, 2024, and in North America on September 13, 2024.
The international rollout of the anime will expand to over 50 countries and regions, including Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and Africa through mid-September. Scheduled cities for the premiere include New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Taipei, Hong Kong, Manila, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Bangkok. Muse Asia is handling the screening distribution for Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
Yukinobu Tatsu’s original sci-fi occult manga series, which was first serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform on April 6, 2021. Fifteen tankobon volumes have been released as of July 2024, with a 16th volume due out on October 4, 2024. VIZ Media releases the manga in English in print and digital format in North America. Crunchyroll also published the print version of the manga in France and Germany from 2022 and 2023.
Crunchyroll and Netflix are streaming DAN DA DAN outside of Japan, describing the main synopsis as:
This is a story about Momo, a high school girl who comes from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult fanatic. After Momo rescues Okarun from being bullied, they begin talking. However, an argument ensues between them since Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens exist, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts exist.
To prove to each other what they believe in is real, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital where a UFO has been spotted and Okarun goes to a tunnel rumored to be haunted. To their surprise, they each encounter overwhelming paranormal activities that transcend comprehension. Amid these predicaments, Momo awakens her hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse to overcome these new dangers! Their fateful love begins as well!?
