Three new voice cast members are joining the ongoing Days With My Stepsister TV anime series, as revealed during a livestream of the MF Bunko J Natsu no Gakuensai 2024 event. The anime first aired in Japan on July 4, 2024.
The new cast includes Atsumi Tanezaki as Kaho Fujinami, Ryohei Arai as Keisuke Shinjo, and Mie Sonozaki as Eiha Kudo.
They join a main voice cast that includes:
- • Kohei Amasaki as Yuuta Asamura
- • Yuki Nakashima as Saki Ayase
- • Daiki Hamano as Tomokazu Maru
- • Ayu Suzuki as Maaya Narasaka
- • Minori Suzuki as Shiori Yomiuri
Tsutomu Ueno (Sasaki and Miyano assistant director) is directing the anime series, with Mitsutaka Hirota (Rent-A-Girlfriend) as series screenwriter, Manabu Nii (Akiba Maid War) as character designer, and Emi Ota (Sayaki and Miyano hand-acting animator et al.) and Toku Watanabe (Sorcerous Stabber Orphen: Doom of Dragon’s Sanctuary Episode 2 co-action animation director) as main animators. Studio Deen is handling the animation production.
The anime adaptation is based on the light novel series written by Ghost Mikawa and illustrated by Hiten, which was first published by Media Factory’s MF Bunko J imprint on January 25, 2021 and has released 11 volumes as of July 2024, with an 12th volume due out on October 25, 2024. The light novels also inspired a 2021 manga adaptation illustrated by Yumika Kanae. Yen Press releases the light novels and manga in English for North America.
The series is part of a mixed-media project that began as a YouTube video series with voiced illustrations. The voice cast from the video series are all reprising their roles for the anime.
Crunchyroll is streaming Days With My Stepsister, describing the main synopsis as:
