The newest key visual has been revealed for the upcoming Goodbye, Dragon Life TV anime series, along with the opening theme and eight new additional cast members. The anime is set to premiere in October 2024.
The anime’s main opening theme song is “Together Forever” by South Korean boyband LUN8.
Meanwhile, the additional cast members joining the series include:
- • Mikoi Sasaki as Diadora
- • Shoya Ishige as Geo
- • Yurina Amami as Fio
- • Madoka Asahina as Marl
- • Masaaki Mizunaka as Georude
- • Yui Ogura as Raffrasia
- • Yukihiro Nozuyama as Geren
- • Satoshi Hino as Georg
They join a main voice cast that stars:
- • Shunsuke Takeuchi as Doran
- • Hitomi Sekine as Serina
- • Ayaka Ohashi as Christina
- • Akane Matsunaga as Airi
Kenichi Nishida (Papuwa) is directing the anime series, with Naokatsu Tsuda (Tokyo 24th Ward director) as series screenwriter and Nozomi Kawashige (Battle in 5 Seconds After Meeting Episode 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12 sub-character designer) as main character designer. SynergySP and Vega Entertainment are in charge of the animation production.
The light novel series is written by Hiroaki Nagashima and illustrated by Kisuke Ichimaru, and was first published by AlphaPolis on April 8, 2015. Twenty-four volumes have been released as of March 2024. The series began as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro on January 20, 2013, but is now being published by AlphaPolis since August 16, 2016.
The light novels also inspired a manga adaptation by Kurono that has been serialized on AlphaPolis’ manga website since December 22, 2015. Twelve tankobon volumes have been released as of March 2024.
Alpha Manga releases the manga adaptation in English digitally, describing the main synopsis as:
After living a long life as the strongest and oldest dragon, he is slain by a human hero. He awakes to find himself reborn as a human, Dolan, in a remote village. He works hard as a farmer and sometimes hunts for food. His life is simple in this small village, but he is surrounded by love. He soon finds happiness he’d never experienced in his life as a dragon. However, dangerous monsters are lurking around his village lately and he goes to the woods to investigate when he finds out an army of monsters are heading his way…
