A new PV trailer has been unveiled for the upcoming Goodbye, Dragon Life TV anime series, along with the ending theme and the addition of two new voice cast members. The anime is scheduled to broadcast in Japan in October 2024.
The new trailer previews the main ending theme “Kimi to Mita Keshiki” by EverdreaM. Meanwhile, the anime’s opening theme is “Together Forever” by LUN8.
The additional cast members joining the series are Misato Matsuoka as Leticia and Eriko Matsui as Malida.
They join the show’s main voice cast that include:
- • Shunsuke Takeuchi as Doran
- • Hitomi Sekine as Serina
- • Ayaka Ohashi as Christina
- • Akane Matsunaga as Airi
Kenichi Nishida (Papuwa) is directing the anime series, with Naokatsu Tsuda (Tokyo 24th Ward director) as series screenwriter and Nozomi Kawashige (Battle in 5 Seconds After Meeting Episode 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12 sub-character designer) as main character designer. SynergySP and Vega Entertainment are handling the animation production.
The anime adaptation is based on the light novel series, written by Hiroaki Nagashima and illustrated by Kisuke Ichimaru. It was first published by AlphaPolis on April 8, 2015. Twenty-four volumes have been released as of March 2024. The series began as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro on January 20, 2013, and has been published by AlphaPolis since August 16, 2016.
The light novels also inspired a manga adaptation by Kurono that has been serialized on AlphaPolis’ manga website since December 22, 2015. Twelve tankobon volumes have been released as of March 2024. Alpha Manga also releases the manga in English digitally.
Crunchyroll will stream Goodbye, Dragon Life worldwide, outside of Japan, describing the main synopsis as:
Long ago, the most ancient of divine dragons was slain by a human. The mighty dragon accepted its death when suddenly, it was reborn as Dolan, a man who lives in a quiet village. While spending another peaceful day toiling in the fields, he meets Celina, a half-human, half-snake creature looking for a partner. The unlikely duo become friends, but challenges lie ahead that threaten their new bond.
