Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers, a new TV anime that’s inspired by the 2021 fighting game Guilty Gear Strive, has been announced with a teaser visual.
The teaser image features Guilty Gear characters Sol Badguy and Sin Kiske, as well as a mysterious goggle-wearing girl in the background. The press release teases that the anime will feature a new story.
3DCG animation studio Sanzigen is producing Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers with Shigeru Morikawa (Uta no Prince-sama Maji Love 1000% The Familiar of Zero: Rondo of Princesses director), who contributed to the storyboards of Guilty Gear Strive‘s “Find Your One Way” music video, as director.
Other staff include Norimitsu Kaiho (Astra Lost in Space series composer, Guilty Gear X: The Butterfly and Her Gale author, Guilty Gear 2 -Overture- scenario writer) as scriptwriter and Seiji Mizushima (Mobile Suit Gundam 00 and Fullmetal Alchemist director) as associate producer.
It was also announced that a Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers stage event will be held at Anime Expo 2024 on July 4 from 11:30 AM to 12:20 PM local time. This event will include a panel with Kaiho, Mizushima, and Guilty Gear Strive producer Ken Miyauchi, which will be streamed on Arc System Works America‘s Twitch channel.
Guilty Gear Strive is the latest entry in Arc System Works‘ fighting game series, which began in 1998 and now sports a 2D/3D hybrid, cell-shaded visual style. The game is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Game Pass, and Steam.
