The official Twitter account for the My Hero Academia TV anime series announced earlier last week that Hiroshi Kamiya will be voicing a younger All For One in the ongoing seventh season. Season seven first broadcasted in Japan on May 4, 2024 and will run for 21 total episodes.
Kenji Nagasaki (returning, director of the first three seasons) is the chief director for season seven, with Naomi Nakayama (Koikimo; Orange chief director; My Hero Academia Episode 78, 83, and 87 storyboard artist, My Hero Academia Episode 64 director) as director, Yoshihiko Umakoshi (returning) and Hitomi Odashima (returning) as character designers, Yuki Hayashi (returning) as music composer. Bones is handling the animation production for the series.
Crunchyroll, Ani-One Asia, bilibili, and iQIYI are some of the streaming platforms releasing the anime series worldwide, outside of Japan. The long-running TV anime adaptation first aired in 2016, with the most recent season six airing from October 2022 to March 2023.
Kohei Horikoshi’s original superhero action manga series was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on July 7, 2014 and concluded on August 5, 2024. Forty-one tankobon volumes have been released as of August 2024, with a 42nd and final volume due out later this December. VIZ Media releases the manga in English for North America.
The series has also inspired several manga spinoffs, video games, and four anime films, with the most recent My Hero Academia The Movie: You’re Next premiering in Japan on August 2, 2024.
Crunchyroll describes the main synopsis of the anime’s seventh season as:
Society has crumbled, along with its faith in heroes, with the all-out battle causing great damage. With the heroes defeated, Shigaraki, All For One, and others plot their takeover. As the final battle draws near, Deku, along with his U.A. classmates and other heroes, including one from America, come together to face this onslaught. Will it be enough to restore peace?
