Studio Signpost is in charge of the animation production.
The anime adaptation is based on the manga by Yayu Murata, which began serialization in Houbunsha’s Weekly Manga Times magazine from July 27, 2018 to December 2, 2022. A total of 14 tankobon volumes were released.
The manga originated as a one-shot in April 2018. It has also inspired a 10-episode live-action drama adaptation in 2022. Another spin-off manga called Hatsukoi Aite no Kimi wa Dare? ran in the same magazine from March 8, 2024 to May 10, 2024.
The premise of If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student follows a widowed husband who lost his wife a decade ago. One day, he meets an elementary school girl claiming to be his reincarnated deceased spouse.
